Question:
Who likes curryworst?

A few years ago I got very peckish in Berlin and bought a curryworst from a convenient Imbiss.
This thing consisted of an orange rubber saussage shoved into a small stale bread roll and had a slimy pink gloop poured over it that looked and tasted like over-chillied tomato sauce. It was ghastly.
Ever since then I have seen lots and they all look the same but most travel guides recommend them. Was I unlucky or are they all like that and not to my taste?

I am German, and you must have been very unlucky.Currywurst is lovely, and you dont put them in a roll. You eat them with chips ,currysauce and currypowder.

Thats what they look like where i live in Germany.

I would kill for one now.

I lived in Germany near Kassel and Paderborn for 5 years and I never got a bad curry worst, some are better than others! They also have a Gypsy style sauce and a very nice one with a mushroom based sauce. By the way the later at night the poor the quality, they are trying to use up the days meats!!! Good eating, and have fun.

Random two cents

Assuming if you're American:

One things Americans always tell me is that they do not really enjoy the "hardness" of many German breads and baked goodies. Then they go to France and the bake goods are all soft and prefer that. Americans typically only eat white sandwhich bread which is super soft of course.

I <3 curry wurst and have some curry ketchup in my fridge and everytime I show it to someone here in the states, they don't like it. I love it! I need to find an Indian food lover and get them to try it.

Currywurst is superb. Tasty fast food, and, given the quality of German sausage, good food too.

It is a shame that we cannot have German fast food in England to compete with McDonbuggerkfc.

What I find interesting is that currywurst, and German wurst in general, differes from shop to shop and region to region. Wurst in Hamburg is quite different to Wurst in Stuttgart.

I once went to Munich for the beer festival, and on the first day I ate so much wurst I could hardly drink any beer!

There is nothing edible that comes from germany, why do think they go around invading every other country? they are looking for decent grub!
