I'm German, and "the world cup is on right now" you best translate with:



"Die Weltmeisterschaft läuft grade"



Literally: "The world champoinship is just running"

Die Weltschale stellt auf Fernsehen dar.



It actually says "The world bowl is showing on television." I think you would need a different dialect of German in order to get the right phrasing.
